Outside Over There is a brand new nightclub founded by the same team that bought Sheffield The Night Kitchen. The team they were looking for a minimalistic identity to represent their industrial surroundings and passion for techno/underground electronic music.
The name Outside Over There comes from the famous and some what controversial childrens book by Maurice Sendak. In the story Ida’s baby sister is taken by goblins as she climbs out of the window into the ‘outside over there’. I took the idea of ‘another world’ as a concept for creating a brand new visual language. The characters take inspiration from religion – the master symbol being the sun – a symbol of life and power – worshiped by many religions. The sun symbol also represents the letter O for Outside Over There.
