Nova interiors

Nova Interiors are a family-run bespoke furniture company – with an extensive range of customisable off-the-shelf products – based in Chesterfield, UK. With an impressive list of clients, their work is featured in a range of bars, hotels, restaurants, offices and stadiums all over the country.

Nova Interiors were looking for a full re-brand to reflect the high level of craftsmanship exhibited in their work.

The concept for the brand was developed from their own dovetail wood joints. Acting as a cutout tool, the joint was used to construct Dovetail Rounded — a bespoke typeface that was developed to use as the company logo/wordmark. The typeface was then used throughout the brand as the company voice, and a range of icons were developed using the same line weights, curved edges and dovetail cut-out to categorise their products and act as a navigation tool on the website.

Working with local photographer Alexandra Wallace, shots were captured of the Nova Interiors’ workers performing their hand-finished manufacturing process. These shots were then featured as large high quality images on the website.

The final outcome came together as a well-branded website design, with lots of attention to detail, soft colours and strong photographic content.
